Love Shines

Within this elemental stardust
that animates this body,
is a soul in silence seated,
experiencing the world in senses,
and enjoying the experience
of existence and emotions.

The swing rides high
the thrill, with peals of glee,
the shining pebble,
smooth, round striated,
a rose sun lights cumulus clouds,
in shades of salmon serenity.

Evening walks, punctuated by calls,
of the loon,and chirping crickets,
the honeysuckles sweet smell,
creeps with sudden surprise,
supper waits carrots, sweet beets, some meat,
mashed potatoes and an apple pie.

In the night sky I see stars.
that like me are from stardust formed,
I contemplate a God who made,
the universe and lives in eternity,
I think of his mercy and goodness,
who orders Love out of chaos.

Then I see them, they are not like us,
they are sinners, they pray not like us,
we love God and do his will,
we are sure he hates them we do,
the same God who from the stardust,
knitted in secret them as he did us.

Our love should be true like God’s light,
shining bright for all unconditionally,
we all share the same likeness elementally,
and we are all loved equally,
our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but to surrender in faith to God’s Love.
