Unquenchable the flame,
once sparked, t’is hard to tame,
like flame of the forest trees on fire,
such is love’s petalled desire.
Tendrils wrap around the vine,
blossoms and leaves intertwine,
in a dance without music or song,
like atoms, love’s bonds stay strong.
The soul cherishes love’s balm,
it’s aroma and ensuing calm,
from the restless heart that pines,
to taste love’s ambrosial wines.
Hunger knows not it starves,
nor sleep that the day carves,
The soul seeks not a friends company,
save with it’s lover it seeks to be.
A thousand dream’s and visions see,
of all that love is or could be,
for the devoidness of love we fear,
and cleave to the love we hold so dear.
Ephemeral, we for eternity cry,
for we know, if you live you must die.
By love’s immortal fire are we inflamed,
as Love for eternity our souls has claimed.
