Pain

Man with conceptual spiritual body art

When Mary of Magdalena wept,
at the Lord’s feet for mercy,
she was not alone,
before the fount of mercy,
she brought all who sinned with her.

When Veronica wiped the face of Jesus,
she was not alone,
we all stood besides her,
as she showed love and compassion,
to the one who epitomizes Love.

When Cain killed Abel,
and Abel’s blood cried for justice,
he was not alone,
we stood with him and all parents,
in those moments of inconsolable grief,
we pleaded with them for Justice and Mercy.

For in all that we do and say,
we collectively suffer the grief and pain,
the good done by a few brings joy to many,
as does evil done by one also brings grief to many.

Charlie Bottle's passion is poetry. He has lived on three continents, speaks five languages and loves different cultures, people, music and food. He believes that "Poetry uses the economy of words to express the essence of our humanity." It is this magical use of brevity to express the profound that drew him to poetry. While his professional and personal life has pulled him in different directions, He continues in his discipleship of the craft and writes whenever the muse moves him. While English is his second language it is the language in which he lives, breathes, thinks and writes poetry.
