Walk with me in Fall

The moon walks besides my dog and me,
looming large at its perigee,
gilding silver, the lake and river,
its light piercing the trees as a silver sliver,
bathing the earth in its white glow,
and, elongating our moving shadows.

Glittering frost sparkles on the clover,
morrow’s crystal dew clings like a lover,
pave diamond frost sparkles on the bosom of earth,
while she wears the dark in all it’s worth,
with a shawl of frosted fall leaves curled,
covering her shoulders in vivid swirls.

I have travelled dark places,
and watched, striving yoked faces,
rising to an unconditional sun.
souls illumined with love, midst greed and hate,
vanquishing with love, the debt,
of the loaded dice, rolled by fate.
