Burn My Letter – Anna’s Diary

“Please, please burn my letter,
for the both of us, it’s better
our love won’t last another day
unless there’s something else to say.”

Your rosy cheeks, your winsome looks
I hid from your face in my books,
come sit by me, this is no game
let’s watch your letter go up in flames,
let me hug and kiss like before,
when we met on azure shores,
and our souls like twin flames burnt bright,
what happened to that spark, that light?

Let us have long conversations,
discussing our aspirations,
let us walk along the wide beach
let’s love, share, pray laugh, learn and teach,
let us re-ignite love again
let me wipe your tears, heal your pain,
I will be yours as, you’ll be mine
I’ll fix the house, make it all fine,
the front porch will have rocking chairs
we’ll watch sunsets without a care,
you my Queen, without any hassles,
and I the Prince of your sweet castle.

Hello to everyone.

I started writing a poem and I would like you to continue it in your own way.

Please, please burn my letter,
for the both of us, it’s better
our love won’t last another day
unless there’s something else to say,

…………………………….. …………

If you want you can read my poem:

Torn Between Two Loves

I appreciate poems with metaphors but not too complicated or long, the important is that what you write gets to the heart of the reader.

No word limit or style rules, I only ask correct grammar so, please check before entering my contest.

Prewrites are allowed as long as related to the theme.

I will judge based on what thoughts and emotions the writing will give me.

Good luck to all and let’s enjoy ourselves.

Thank you, Anna

Charlie Bottle's passion is poetry. He has lived on three continents, speaks five languages and loves different cultures, people, music and food. He believes that "Poetry uses the economy of words to express the essence of our humanity." It is this magical use of brevity to express the profound that drew him to poetry. While his professional and personal life has pulled him in different directions, He continues in his discipleship of the craft and writes whenever the muse moves him. While English is his second language it is the language in which he lives, breathes, thinks and writes poetry.
